Roy encourages adults to recognize that most teens will experience a 9 -15 month period of denial before finally confronting and processing their own grief. Roy also illustrates how critical peer presence and support is for teens when dealing with loss. Finally, Roy suggests things that adults should and should not say to a teenager that's grieving.
